It’s 2018. Frisk and Chara are nonbinary, and Kris is also nonbinary. Undertale and Deltarune make very clear that the player can’t decide who the main characters are, just how they act, and the whole point of the True Pacifist was discovering that all along Frisk was the real protagonist, and Frisk uses they/them. In the same way, Chara is an Actual Character in the story and their family uses they/them to refer to them. They’re not “up to interpretation” or “gender neutral so that the player can better identify with them”, they’re their own people. This discourse became boring 3 years ago and it still is now, stop erasing the kids’ canon identity and pronouns just because you can’t deal with the idea of them being trans.
