I love how antis use “gross” as though it’s an objectively damning description. You know what I think is gross? Celery. Am I stopping anyone from eating it? No. I’m an adult who won’t buy it or order food with it and if I accidentally eat any, I move past it because I’m not a temper tantrum throwing toddler.

I wanted to add to this example because of some recent assholes i saw.

Antis seem to think: I hate celery. Celery is bad. So if you eat celery you must think celery is good. But there’s is no way to make celery good.

But they don’t consider that people can take some gross raw celery even when they themselves hate it too, and cook it up into a meal. And in that way, yes, they then like celery. But that person hates raw celery if it’s just by itself too. The raw celery is ‘reality’. The meal is ‘fiction’.

This is why it’s stupid as hell for an anti to say ‘if you ship an abusive ship you support abuse in real life’. They’re just literally over there assuming that the appeal is the abuse without ANY story or context or purpose or anything surrounding it. They don’t consider AT ALL why a person is looking for a certain thing in their fiction. Not the person’s life, their past, or the type of story that the person prefers to feature it.

‘Fiction doesn’t exist in a vacuum!!’ they scream. While condemning everyone’s fiction as if it was in a vacuum.
